What’s Wierszowisko all about?

The “Wierszowisko” Festival of Polish Poetry in Great Britain was adopted in 2012 from Holland where the idea of the contest was invented and introduced among the community of Polish supplementary schools.

Each year the contest is given a theme which defines a type and a style of the chosen poems. The Grand Final takes place at the POSK Theatre in London. The “Wierszowisko” Polish Poetry Festival has two categories: individual and team performance.  All participants receive certificates, medals and prizes. The winners get valuable prizes and trophies. The jury consists of well-known stage and theatre personalities both form Poland and Great Britain who share their experience and add value to the competition.

Each year “Wierszowisko” is becoming more and more popular among the community of Polish supplementary schools in the UK. The competition gives a great opportunity to promote Polish poetry and offers a chance for children to express their drama and poetry reading talents.
